Top 10 Things Guests Forget to Pack for a Caravan Holiday

With life being so busy, it is very easy to forget some essential items when packing to go away.  We hope our top 10 list of things guests forget to pack for a caravan holiday list will act as a reminder to help avoid you missing things off your list.

Booking Confirmation

Many guests arrive on park without their booking confirmation to hand, which can sometimes cause delays with them accessing their reserved holiday home.  Because you opt to book the specific unit they like, it is essential you know which holiday home you are staying in and who you need to call to obtain the key when you arrive on park..

We always  send out booking and arrival infomation out to guests via email so we recommed you keep a copy safe on your mobile device or print a copy out to bring with you.  Afterall, you wouldn’t travel abroad without your tickets and familiarising yourself with the check in information.  Proof of booking is required before we can release the keys.

Chargers

We all rely on our gadgets and mobile devices and tend to still use them when we are holiday for keeping in contact and to help keep the children entertained. Don’t forget to pack the required chargers or spare batteries to avoid a dash to the shops.  We have a travel multi-purpose charger that comes in very handy for travelling and they are worth investing in. All you need to do is change the jack over to the one suitable for your device.

Towels

Very few caravan owners and holiday parks provide towels as standard.  Many will provide linen as we do but it is unusual for towels to be provided.  Make sure you don’t forget to back beach towels, shower towels, hand towel and some tea towels too. It’s surprising just how many you will get through when on holiday.

Bin Bags

We all pack our bags nice and neatly to come away and we do tend to over pack so there is inevitably going to be some clean clothes left in your bag at the end of your holiday.  Do you really want to mix all the dirty laundy in with the remaining clean clothes?  This is where a trusty roll of bin bags comes in handy.  Not only will you need them for the kitchen waste but they are also handy to put the dirty washing in when you go home.

Slippers and Warm Things

Even during the warmest weather, caravans can still be a bit nippy first thing in the morning and in to the evening, even if you have central heating. The floors can feel cold so it’s worth popping in some slippers or similar plus a fleece top to throw on.  If your caravan doesn’t have central heating, warm PJs and some extra blankets are worth packing too.

Easy to forget, basic cleaning supplies are some of the things holidaymakers forget to bring with them. We recommed you bring with you: washing up liquid, tea towels, sponges/cloths, multi-purpose bacterial spray, kitchen roll, bin bags, tupperware/sandwich bags. Swimwear

If you’re like us and pack all the swimwear in a separate ‘swimming bag’, it is generally the one that doesn’t make it to the car. Whilst there are shops nearby that sell swimwear, it’s an added expense you don’t need if you have to replace it all on arrival. Here at Hopton, there is a great indoor and outdoor pool so it’s definitely somewhere your family will want to go during your holiday.
