The New Marina Lounge and Bar at Haven Hopton Holiday Village
I got to see the new Marina Lounge and Bar at Haven Hopton Holiday Village last weekend and it is absolutely AMAZING!
Over the closed season, the contractors have been really busy transforming what was the Showbar into a modern, multi-functional, zoned venue that can be used in the day time and at night thanks to the installation of new windows and skylights. You really do need to see it to appreciate the changes. The Showbar is now called the Marina Lounge and Bar.
I have added some photographs so you get a sneak peek before you arrive.
The stage now has three screens that move to accommodate the needs of each performance. There is new lighting and a fab sound system too. This year will see new performers and entertainment being brought to you by an all new Funstar cast.
Over 18s Area
For those of you without children or if you prefer a quieter place to enjoy the entertainment, there is now an over 18s only area.
If you’re a sporting fan, dotted around the venue are large projector-type screens for you to watch the big game. I think they may be used for other things too.
Modern technology has been introduced and to avoid long queues at the bar, there are new order stations where you pay and then your drinks are delivered to your table by waiters. I am told this concept is being expanded in the coming months too so you can order drinks via an app for delivery direct to your table.
That’s not all!
Soft Play Area
Hopton now has a soft play area, which is a multi-level play activity with a separate area for the babies and toddlers too. There is some seating for parents and a photo point for the children to pose inside a deep sea diver’s costume.
And there’s more!
More Food Choices
Pappa Johns has moved up to the Marina Bar to make it even easier to order a delicious pizza whilst you enjoy the entertainment. When your pager flashes, you collect your pizza. Down where Pappa Johns was, you will find the new Cook’s Fish and Chip shop. The Garden House is still there serving a wide range of breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes, as well as a carvery on a Sunday.
One of the improvements includes the installation of ramps in addition to stairs to access various sections of the venue; making it easier for wheelchair users and for parents with pushchairs.
And a bit more!
There are now toilets next to the stage at the front of the Marina Lounge.
New Amusement Arcade
There is a new amusement complex called Oodles, which has all the family favourites, including grabber machines, 2p pushers, Space Invaders, fruit machines and other high-tech gaming machines.
During the daytime and in the evening, there are new activities and new performances to watch so if you’ve been before, there will be something new to experience. If you haven’t already done so, I recommend downloading the Haven What’s On? app as this lists everything that is going on each day. It is very useful for planning what everyone would like to do during your stay.
